LED plant lights are not just lighting fixtures

With the global promotion of energy-saving and environmentally friendly products, LED is called the fourth generation of new light source. Due to its characteristics of energy saving, environmental protection and long life, LED is recognized and accepted by more and more people, and the market is developing very fast. I didn't know what LEDs (light-emitting diodes) were normal 10 years ago. After 10 years, I don't know that LEDs can't keep up with the times. The application of LED is very wide. It can be said that LED can be used as long as it needs light. It can be roughly divided into LED household lighting, LED commercial lighting, LED advertising lighting, LED agricultural lighting and so on.

LED agricultural lighting has emerged in recent years, and LED is increasingly favored as a new type of illumination source for agriculture. The types of lamps include plant, animal and bath lighting. The most widely used area is still in plant lighting, covering the entire growth stage of plants from cultivation, growth to flowering. With the reduction of available land resources and the increasing environmental pollution, the cultivation of vegetables and flowers indoors has become the trend of future agricultural development.

The development of modern science and technology will transform into a modern high-tech agriculture in the past, and anti-season planting has become the norm. The breakthrough point is: the successful application of LED in modern agriculture, agriculture will also open up a broader market for the application of LED.

It is understood that the current products used for plant lighting are mainly traditional light sources such as high pressure nano lamps and metal halide lamps. Most of the power is in the hundreds of watts or even thousands of watts. These traditional light sources contain many wavelengths unnecessary for plant growth. Their bio-light efficiency is very low, energy consumption is large, and only 10% of the light waves can be absorbed by plants. The utilization rate is not high, and harmful gases are also emitted during use.

LED has the advantages of narrow wavelength, pure light quality, high luminous efficiency, rich wavelength type, convenient spectral energy modulation, low heat generation, small volume and long life. It is convenient to concentrate the wavelength required by plants and implement balanced close-range illumination. For plant growth, intensive plant production with high efficiency, low heat load and compact space can be achieved, reducing the use of plant hormones or other chemicals.

For the physical control of agricultural pests, LED light sources of specific wavelengths can be used to induce and kill pests, reduce the amount of pesticides applied, and achieve safe green production. By utilizing the characteristics of LED spectrum, it can provide effective photosynthesis for plants, and promote the utilization rate of more than 90%.

Most manufacturers of LED plant lights now use LED home and commercial lighting as their main business, and plant lighting only accounts for a small share. The research and development investment in plant lighting is relatively small, and it is simple to think that the plant lamp is a combination of red and blue light.
