US Department of Energy releases three LED replacement products for T8 fluorescent lamps

[High-tech LED News] The US Department of Energy (DOE) researched the feasibility of directly replacing commercial linear fluorescent lamps with LEDs. Through the evaluation of three LED products, it has released a report on LED replacement products for T8 fluorescent lamps. The report details the lighting effects, price/performance and energy consumption of the three LED replacement lamps.

The test report shows:
1. The energy consumption of three LED products is reduced compared with fluorescent lamps, but the luminous flux below and side of indoor lamps is also significantly reduced;
2. Compared to the price of LED products, the T8 fluorescent lamp as a research benchmark is much cheaper;
3. Under the condition of low luminous flux, the low-power fluorescent lamp can also have the same energy consumption as LED, and it is much cheaper, and the low-power fluorescent lamp can keep the lighting effect longer than the LED, and the service life is up to 30,000 hours.

In the CARIPER test program of the Department of Energy, the results show that these three LEDs are the most effective in the current commercial linear products. However, because its current research focus is on LED products that can directly replace fluorescent lamps, the rest of the design is not evaluated in this report.

Organic Solderability Preservative is a cheap surface treatment.This surface treatment can protect the PCB Board surface and facilitate PCB Assembly. Its advantage is that it is easy to weld.this kind of PCB boards need to complete PCB assembly within three months. The board thickness from 0.2 mm to 6.0 mm, size from 5*5 mm to 600*650 mm can use the surface treatment of organic solderability preservative(Short name is OSP)
