He also pointed out: "China's demand for LED bulbs is certainly not as big as that of Europe and the United States. Qian Jiafa, manager of Fairchild Semiconductor's technical marketing department, analyzed several key factors in LED lighting design:

1. For AC voltage input applications above 5W, PF (power factor) ≥ 0.9 at rated input voltage; for MR16 illuminator applications with low voltage input, there is no regulation. At present, the demand for PFC for applications below 5W has begun to increase; the input electrolytic capacitors need to be omitted.

2. When the power is greater than 25W, the THD (total harmonic distortion) is less than 25% (<10% in the Russian market). There are no strict requirements for bulb type applications.

3. The power efficiency of the LED driver board, in low power applications, when there is no dimming plate, it is greater than 85%; when there is a dimming plate, it is greater than 80%. The efficiency is getting higher and higher, but the associated BOM cost has also increased.

4. In terms of dimming compatibility, the phase cut dimmer (leading edge and trailing edge type) is the mainstream, to ensure that the LED light does not flash.
