Hong Kong's smartphone penetration ranks third in the world

According to a recent survey released by Google, 35% of people in Hong Kong use smart phones, second only to Singapore and Australia, ranking third in the global rankings.

The survey was conducted by Google and the Ipsos Group, a market research organization, from March to July this year on the popularization and use of smartphones. A total of 30,000 people in 30 regions around the world have been surveyed, including 2,000 in Hong Kong. According to the survey results, the proportion of Hong Kong users who search the Internet on smartphones every day is as high as 56%. In addition, these users typically use their multimedia features, such as listening to music, reading newspapers, and watching TV programs, when using their smartphones. This reflects that smart phones have become a necessity for Hong Kong people.

However, the current use of smart phones to shop online is still not popular. 33% of smart phone users in Hong Kong want to be able to shop online through smart phones. In this regard, the industry believes that this is because most companies have not yet launched a suitable application, and online shopping in Hong Kong does have a large potential business opportunities.

Comments: The difference between the business carrying capacity of smart phones and traditional feature phones has become increasingly apparent. It is expected that the huge advantages existing in feature phones and smart phones will be exhausted in the next 4 to 5 years. If we see the computer in front of the user, it's not surprising that users still use mobile phones to read e-books.
