Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) has released a new image processing chip, the AD9271, which is easy to combine with convenience and high performance. The AD9271 also complements Analog Devices' AD7980, AD9704, ADV212 and ADR510, making it the most comprehensive line of products available to all IC manufacturers today for the medical imaging and ultrasound diagnostics market.

Samples are now available for the AD9271 with integrated AFE and volume production is expected in May 2007. The AD9271 is priced at $40/piece to $72/piece in 1,000-piece quantities, depending on the speed rating. The AD9271 is available in a lead-free, 14 mm x 14 mm form factor, 100-pin thin quad flat package (TQFP).
