Who should choose the Cherry Shaft Keyboard? ? Gaussian and IKBC mechanical keyboard comparison

In major peripheral forums, talking about the limited budget to buy a cherry shaft mechanical keyboard, we will recommend Gaussian or IKBC, the budget will be more adequate, everyone will also speak Cooler Master, so in the entry-level cherry shaft mechanical keyboard brand ,Gaussian and IKBC is a popular choice, then the two keyboards in the end who should choose, small partners are holding words, some people say that because of the three-way data line to choose ikbc, some people say that because of Gaussian new two-color PBT keycap The selection of Gauss, it is true, each product has its own characteristics, today I will compare the depth of the two brands of 104-key version, to which hesitates to buy a little partner, to provide some real help.

I have previously put forward a point of view that will be called Gauss "becoming a classic narrow border", the IKBC as "a reference to improve the innovative narrow border." The original understanding was that Gauss was simply mimicking the myth of the narrow border of the mechanical keyboard of FILCO. IKBC formed its own characteristics through some improvements. However, this time through the depth comparison of the two entry-level products, my ideas have changed a little, why? Please look down.

This comparison is a Gaussian GS-104 keyboard and IKBC C-104 keyboard, their characteristics are: cherry shaft entry level, without lights, PBT keycaps. What is the price, but also the same price segment.

First look at the packaging of the two products, are used environmentally friendly kraft carton packaging, look at the shape of the ikbc packaging box to be larger, because he used a double cardboard packaging. Ikbc cartons are thicker and Gaussian cartons are more rigid. The product inside the box can be seen on the side of the paper box.

Gauss GS-104 family portrait, keyboard body, wire puller, warranty card/instructions.

Ikbc C104 family portrait, keyboard theme, transparent dust cover, wire puller, manual, 10 color PBT keycaps.

Look at the back of the two products:

Gauss's keyboard uses a center line, which is the same as FILCO. Three exposed screw holes (this is required to remove the Gaussian keyboard when disassembled), four non-slip feet, centered on the product information label.

Ikbc keyboard uses a popular three-way outlet design, this design allows the desktop to improve the efficiency of a lot of management, ikbc back there is no screw hole, ikbc this keyboard is connected by the upper and lower cover buckle. There are also four non-slip foot stickers, which are also product information labels.

Look at the USB cable, the two products are also using soft glue lines, wire softness are generally, USB interface is gold-plated technology, are equipped with anti-jamming magnetic ring, the only difference is that a small difference is ikbc a magic line band.

Look at the two products of wire puller, Gaussian key puller is again similar to the big F puller, but the thickness of the handle is thinner, ikbc is designed on the handle hollow ring.

The big difference between the two products, in this foot, Gauss's foot support is again the same as the classic F, the common foot, ikbc uses a second-order foot support, can provide more keyboard tilt angle. The design of the feet is really good now, and it has a non-slip design when it is propped up.

Look under the two products of the keypad area and LOGO area, Gaussian's LOGO design, the fourth with a large F is similar, the concave cover module, Siamese metal trimming brushed glossy surface, very good. Ikbc does not have a LOGO design here. Look at the next light, Gaussian has four indicator holes, the first three is the conventional indicator, the fourth is the indicator light key WIN hole, saying there are only three indicator holes F, ah, it seems that Gauss also Incomplete copying is done, ikbc is three regular indicator holes.

Let's look at a place I am more concerned about. Although the same is a classic narrow border, there are some differences in the side, Gaussian side has a concave curve, ikbc is a straight line. This time, Gauss's fifth time is similar to the details of the FILCO keyboard. FILCO's sides are also curved.

Place the two keyboards flat and see that the ikbc's keycap is a lot taller than Gauss. Later, the reason for the analysis was that the second-order foothold occupied a part of the space of the mold, so that the upper cover and the shaft body should be lifted up. So some people think that the keyboard of ikbc is a bit high. This is the reason. Of course, this has no effect on most people.

Both keyboards use PBT keycaps. The difference is that ikbc is a PBT keycap laser engraving character process, and Gaussian is a PBT two-color keycap. From the process point of view, it is definitely better to use PBT two colors. This is beyond doubt. Ikbc's font is relatively small, the color is light gray, Gauss's two-color PBT keycap is not sealed, the font is thick, dark color. In the near future, with this keycap, Gauss has gained a lot of support, two-color PBT, will not fade before the keycap is worn. The laser engraving characters, according to a film king DT35 that I used before, took 7 years and 8 years, played numerous games of Warcraft, ABS key cap that "A" key is obviously faded, but also Obviously, the description is still very durable, but the overall color consistency of the keycap will be worse.

On the back of the keycaps, the two keycaps were found to be in good fit with the keyboard during dismantling and installation, with no looseness and tightness. Please note here that both sets of keycaps are opaque.

Speaking of keycaps, the last time I saw a small friend in a peripherals forum mentioned a mistake in the Gaussian keyboard keycap, I think I still have to come up with something that is his left SHIFT key, height There is a problem with it. Please see the picture for details. Although there is not much difference in typing, the height of the left SHIFT key and the height of R1 made R2 is indeed a mistake.

Both keyboards use a cherry shaft, and the design of the large key positions are all satellite shafts. The small difference is that Gauss's keypad area “+” and Enter are the two axes, and the ikbc is the side-mounted two.

Since it is a deep contrast, it had to be dismantled. The upper and lower covers of the gaussian keyboard are connected by screws in the upper part and by fasteners in the lower part, and can be easily disassembled by removing the screws. The ikbc is the need to use the bank card to dismantle the buckle to separate the upper and lower cover, requires more skills, here prompted the need for two bank cards easier.

Look under the cover of the two products, Gauss has a magnetic ring on the data line, and IKBC is designed inside the data cable slot.

The comparison of the tops of the two keyboards looks like Gauss's need to be thick. In fact, the two covers are similar. I learned that the two covers are about 120G through the electronic scale, basically no difference.

Two kinds of keyboard PCB board has used different colors, Gauss is a green PCB board, ikbc is a red PCB board, the overall view, Gauss PCB board concise a lot, IKBC is relatively complex, why look down.

Looking at the back of the uniaxial body, Gaussian is the two welding pins formed by the three-pin shaft plus a SMD diode. Ikbc is also the two welding pins formed by the three-pin shaft plus a glass diode. The difference is that the IKBC has one more LED lamp. SMD diodes for pin holes and LED lights. (Probably my gesture box is not very accurate, know the partner please correct me) so ikbc's PCB board and Gauss's is a lot more complicated than that, IKBC's C104 keyboard can add lights.

Comparing the side of the two PCB boards, the thickness of the PCB board and the trimming process are all possible. The middle layer of steel, the thickness of the two, Gaussian white paint thicker. The thickness of the steel plate and the thickness of the lacquer water have some influence on the bottom touch of the shaft body. Therefore, it is not possible to use the thickness to locate the bad. This is just to mention it.

Looking at the situation in the upper right corner of the PCB and the front side of the steel plate, the combination of the above figure shows that both models use double-layer glass fiber PCB boards, and the materials used are still good. (If incorrect, please correct me.)

Well, what can be seen, from the inside out, the author basically summed up so much. There are some that I can't see. I also say here:

Gaussian GS-104 mechanical keyboard can realize the shortcut operation commonly used on PC through the combination of FN and F1-F12. FN+F12 is the quick setup of lock WIN, the fourth indicator light is on, and the operation is off again. Details still need to see the instructions.

Ikbc also has FN keys, so there are also corresponding shortcut combinations, lock WIN is also there, as well as the full keyboard without punching quick settings, these also have in the instructions. This keyboard is also more suitable for DIY players, can enjoy their own lights plus fun.

Finally talk about the feel, a tea shaft a milk shaft, it is difficult to compare, big key satellite axis tuning are pretty good, who is good and who is bad, so abstract I really do not say much, because everyone understands may not It's the same, so this one still depends on everyone to think about it.

Can not help but feel the emotion, both lively and bright, the two keyboards are very good, looked at so many details of comparison, you do not know how to choose it? Any questions? You are welcome to leave a comment, I will answer you in the range I know.
