Sigma Designs, Inc. introduces the CopperGate CG3310M, the first complete single-chip Ethernet over Coax (EoC) solution. The CG3310M features an integrated mixed-signal design that reduces package space on the PCB and minimizes the number of external components required to achieve low-cost broadband access over existing coaxial cable architectures. The CG3310M uses an innovative, flexible bandwidth selection process to improve performance, improve stability, and better coexist with traditional services such as CATV and DOCSIS. The new chip uses Sigma's Fast EoC(tm) technology for ultra-high-performance solutions while providing a stable total system throughput of 160 bits per second for 126 users.
