LED lighting production value increased in 2015, the fastest growth rate in the mainland

In 2014 and 2015, the LED component industry in Taiwan will achieve a growth rate of 10% and 14% respectively.

As for Japan and South Korea, the price competitiveness of Japanese-denominated products should be relatively higher due to the sharp depreciation of the Japanese exchange rate for two years. However, in 2014, Nichia and Toyoda Gosei's revenues were mixed, showing a long-term decline, making the Japanese LED component industry estimate only a small 1%, 5% growth rate in 2014 and 2015. The LED industry in Korea has a high degree of connectivity with LED application industries, such as monitors and mobile phones. Therefore, under the circumstance of the above-mentioned industries, the LED manufacturers' revenue performance will also be impacted. It is estimated that the output value of LED components in Korea will appear in 2014 and 2015. 3% decline, 2% micro growth.

Although the Taiwan region maintained its No. 1 output value for LED components in 2014, and there have been incidents such as mergers and acquisitions and strategic cooperation between major international companies, the influence of Taiwan in the global lighting market is still not high. The lighting market in various countries is still dominated by international or regional lighting manufacturers. The manufacturing base material of PCB is rigid glass fiber laminate. In the actual manufacturing process, many types of PCB materials can be used. Which material to use is determined by the PCB designer to meet electrical, temperature and other related characteristics. However, the standard material commonly used is fiberglass, which we usually call FR4.

FR, which technically stands for "flame retardant", does not mean specific material, but refers to material grade. However, it is a glass fiber reinforced epoxy laminate with flame retardant standard UL94V-0.

FR4 is the most common and typical choice of rigid PCB materials. Usually we classify them into three categories:

Normal Tg = Material melting point over 130 degrees Celsius
Medium Tg = Material melting point more than 150 degrees Celsius
High Tg = Material melting point more than 170 degrees Celsius
