Chinese enterprises work together to promote the advancement of OLED technology

At present, the speed of OLED industrialization is accelerating, and the upstream and downstream cooperation of Chinese enterprises will jointly promote technological progress and prepare for the competition of China's OLED industry at the starting line.
At present, the global OLED industry is not yet mature, and the related multi-technology routes are developing in parallel. It is still unclear. At the same time, key links such as organic luminescent materials and driving substrates are still insufficient. The arrival of OLED large-scale industrialization time is still uncertain. Taking the mobile phone display panel market as an example, LCD currently accounts for 95% of mobile phone panel shipments, and AMOLED only accounts for 4%. The market regulator believes that even in 2015, AMOLED's market share in the mobile phone panel will only increase to 10%, and LCD will still account for 88% market share. Even though the figures don't look very optimistic, AMOLED is still in a state of flux, causing great concern from many manufacturers and consumers.
Many studies and forecasts believe that 2012 will be a year of OLED watershed. In 2012, global AMOLED shipments will approach 100 million mark; revenue will also reach $1.5 billion. In the display field, Samsung SMD is currently the largest in the OLED industry, with shipments accounting for nearly 50% of the entire industry, with shipments accounting for more than 80% of the total, and will remain a leader in future competition. Both Samsung and LGD have announced that they will invest heavily in the field of OLEDs, extending the use of OLED panels from smartphones and tablets to televisions and other fields. Samsung's 8th generation AMOLED panel test line will be put into use, LG also launched the OLED production line construction, and launched AMOLED panels for 30-inch TV.
On the other hand, Japanese companies are not willing to continue the nightmare of the LCD industry being captured by Korean companies, and will be deployed in the upcoming OLED market. Japan Industrial Innovation Agency (INCJ) led the announcement with Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba to sign a letter of intent to set up a new company to integrate small and medium-sized display business. The new company is named Japan Display and is set up with a new focus on Japanese industrial innovation institutions. The company is responsible for operations. At a time when the panel industry continues to lose money and there is no sign of warming up, the combination of such giants is not only for "holding the group to warm up", but also to lay the groundwork for the OLED market.
China's consumer market is huge, and the domestic OLED industry research and development has already established a certain foundation. Before the global OLED industry has not been scaled up, China has great development potential and market opportunities. At the same time, compared with developed countries, China's basic research, core materials, key equipment, industry standards, intellectual property rights, technology research and development and innovation capabilities are relatively weak, lacking coordination between upstream and downstream industries and strong international capitalization. Enterprises, therefore, the development of China's OLED industry is also facing a very serious challenge. At present, China's mainland OLED industry is in the early stage of development, and local well-known enterprises such as Shanghai Tianma, BOE, Visionox, Sichuan Hongshi, Rainbow Group, Guangdong Zhongxian, Dongguan Hongwei, and North Orade are timely cutting in and accelerating key core technologies. R & D, promote the construction of OLED production lines. Before the global OLED industry has yet to be scaled up, efforts to shorten the gap with foreign advanced levels will have greater development potential and market opportunities before the upcoming marketization wave.
As the new darling of indoor lighting, OLED lighting will be rapidly industrialized in the world in the next few years, showing explosive growth. The size of the lighting market is expected to reach $14 billion by 2020. According to the characteristics of OLED lighting products, its best target market in the early stage should be the indoor lighting of new buildings. At present, about 22% of the world's electricity is used for building lighting. China is in the process of accelerating urbanization. In recent years, the annual new construction area accounts for more than 50% of the world. The new construction area will reach 20 billion square meters in the next 10 years. The largest market for lighting, the development of OLED lighting, has broad prospects. Different from the OLED display industry, there are no large-scale mass production OLED lighting companies in the world. If China can cooperate with upstream and downstream in OLED lighting, we will play a competitive role in market, technical talents and government support to overcome the lack. The disadvantages of core equipment technology and precision processing technology, market-for-cooperation, policy-driven cooperation, and gradual realization of localization of equipment manufacturing will eventually narrow the gap with foreign advanced levels, and eventually achieve cornering overtaking.
Under the guidance of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China OLED Industry Alliance, established in June 2011, has organized domestic enterprises, research institutes and higher education in basic research, core materials, key equipment, industry standards, intellectual property, technology research and development and innovation capabilities. Scholars from colleges and universities have established six working groups of core technology, key supporting, intellectual property, standards, lighting and marketing, and have directed research work. Domestic OLED enterprises can strengthen communication in all aspects of the industry through the industry alliance platform. Promote interactive cooperation, form synergy, jointly advance, gradually narrow the gap with the international leading level, and promote the rapid and healthy development of China's OLED industry.
